Notes on the Final Exam

• The final exam will be given on Thursday, December 10, 10:30–12:30 in Olson 6
• The format will be similar to that of the midterm exam
• You may bring one 8.5 by 11 sheet of paper with notes on one or both sides
• You will need a scientific calculator
• Please bring one or more writing instruments
• I will not have calculators or pencils for you to borrow
• Exam questions may cover anything we have done in the course, but with emphasis on material in the latter half
• Specifically, most of the questions will be from Chapters 5–8 in the text, Lectures 7–15, Homeworks 4–7
• There will be office hours 1–3 on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 8 and 9 or by appointment any day except 12/7
• Though, obviously, material from earlier in the course is often needed to answer a question from later in the course
• The Thursday, December 3 class will be in part a final exam Q&A session, so bring questions
• Also on 12/3 we will go over the solutions to the homework that is due that day.
